Maori life

Hello again from NZ!!!
I hope you all have had a wonderful week. Our week has been pretty successful. Lots of things happened that made me happy! We also met a little girl staying with a member family and her name Miracle. She is 9 and told us that she would like to be baptized! So that was a very nice surprise for us!Last night I had a real Maori experience. Well it's kinda a long story haha. So we got a text from this sister who told us that we were invited to attend this service at this place they call the marae. (Special Maori place) We couldn't make it when we were asked to go but we thought we'd at least pop by juwe had no Idea what was going on. Then they said we were gonna have a break and then come back for a church service. So we just went with it. They gave us this massive feed and then they said whenever the two of us were done eating the bell would ring for church to start. So we finished and then I got pulled into saying a prayer and my comp gave a talk about something.
And that's about it for this week! We will have a lot to talk st to make sure everything went okay. So we just poked our head in and they ended up doing like this big Maori welcoming thing it was actually pretty cool. Then They took us up to the body and we had to go one at a time. And it looked like the guy was wearing a mask. SO my comp went up first and gave him a kiss on the cheek (just the culture) then I went up and the lady told me just nose to nose, So I was like alright. Then we went around the entire room and got welcomed by everyone. Gave a hongi (a hongi is a maori thing where its us "sharing a breath" with the person) to all the men and a kiss on the cheek to all the women. Then we sat there and they were all talking in Maori and about next week hopefully! Until then! Have a good week :)
